We stayed here for four nights after extending our stay for an additional night. This is a very nice and exceptionally clean campground. The staff keeps the restrooms sparkling and the grounds are well manicured. The campground is located on the Peace River and there are four docks from which to fish from or just look at the river. They also have their own boat ramp. There are two pools and spa on the property, an activity center, huge pavilion where they had Karaoke on Saturday night, a nicely stocked camp store (with very reasonable prices, I might add), a game room with pool table, air hockey, video games and ping pong table, a large activity room with big screen TV, and a snack bar open on Friday and Saturday nights. They also have pancake breakfasts on Sunday mornings. You can rent canoes from the campground for "local" canoeing, or go to a local outfitter who will drop you off up river with canoes and pick you up later in the day downstream. The campground was very quiet during the week although there were a lot of campers parked there due to a very good "store and stay" program they have. On Friday afternoon, all the weekend campers rolled in, either with their campers or to reoccupy the camper already on-site. If this campground weren't three hours away, we would participate in the program. It's a great idea and relatively low cost. I would recommend this campground to families with kids of all ages. It really is a very nice campground.

We only overnighted at this campground enroute to our final destination. It was fine for this purpose. I would not use this place a destination location. They actually gave me the site they promised over the telephone when I made my reservation about a month earlier, so that was good. The interior roads are a little narrow and hilly, so you have to be careful if you are in a big or long rig. I didn't see any concrete pads that weren't totally broken up. Our site was reasonably level and the hookup to the sewer was a little downhill which made things easy. Propane was available at a reasonable cost. The KOA store offered a lot, including pizza made to order and delivered to your site. We did not use the restroom facilities.

This is a fantastic place to camp. We spent one week there. The property is huge and beautiful. Streams run throughout with most of the campsites along one of the streams. There are a ton of activities for young kids. My 14 and 18 year old sons even had a good time hiking and exploring. The weather was great, and sleeping at night with the windows open and the sound of the stream was perfect. There is a lodge where you can relax and play a game of chess. A small selection of camping and food items you might need are also available there for purchase. There is wireless internet available at no charge, and they even had a phone where you can make free long distance calls to anywhere in the US as long as you kept your call to 10 minutes. There is no TV reception unless you have satellite, so bring DVDs for the kids if that's what you want to do. They charge you $5 per night if you have a pet which I thought wasn't great, but this is a non-profit camping facility so they have to raise money somehow. If I were camping in a tent or pop-up where I would have to use the bath house, toilet and shower availability would be somewhat limited if the place really filled up...but they were clean. There is a lot to do in the local area. This site is only three miles from the highest point in Georgia, and the Appalachian Trail runs right by the camp. The Alpine tourist town of Helen, GA, is just 14 miles south. The German food is great there and the miniature golf place on the hill was fun and inexpensive. We will be making reservations to return there next year at the same time. I highly recommend this place.
